Plants are mainly grown and cultivated for their attractive flowers, foliage, shapes and other reason such as shades. It is often forgotten that human beings and land animals are dependent upon plants. They are the essential parts of the ecosystems. Plant uses the light energy captured from the sun to convert carbon dioxide and water into carbohydrates, releasing oxygen as by product. This process which is known as photosynthesis, is vital to maintaining normal levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the Earth atmosphere. Photosynthesis is the source of energy for nearly all life form on earth, either directly or indirectly.

There are a few methods of plants classification. One method is by their growth form. They are classified as trees if they have woody stems, or trunks, and are generally higher than 2.4 meters (8 feet) when mature. Shrubs are lower height woody and herbaceous plants. Climbers display a growth form based on long stems and often require a physical support to grow. You can start by clicking on the images.

Another classification method available in this website is by the plants taxonomy.
